Ministry prepares to graduate next class of transformed lives
This is a time where our staff feels most richly blessed…the graduation of our class. Looking back over the previous twelve weeks, there have been more ups and downs than we could have ever imagined. But all the struggles have proved to be worth it because eight of our students will walk across the stage and celebrate perhaps their greatest achievement to this point in their life. To give you some idea of how challenging our course is, we began this cycle with 23 men and women. When the dust finally settled, only eight of them remained.
Statistics such as these always calls for proper reflection. We ask ourselves questions such as, “Is the curriculum too demanding?” or “Are our expectations too high or simply unrealistic?” I inevitably come back around to the idea that adherence to these standards is absolutely crucial to our students’ long-term success. However, I also realize that, what many of us have had a lifetime to learn, our students have, in essence, a 13-week cram session.
As a result, we know they will still need, at times, our help, our encouragement, and our friendship. But that is what we believe makes us a little different. It is our intent, from the very beginning, to enter into lifelong relationships with our students. It is through genuine relationship that both parties can best become what God has created and called us to become.
Graduation will be Thursday, April 10th, at 6 p.m at 52 Adams Avenue.
Hope to see you there!
