Beth Griswold, one of our Frazer supported missionaries to Southeast Asia, was telling me today about opportunities God gives her to witness for Jesus. Remember, she is in a country where public witness for Christianity is not allowed. But that doesn’t stop the Gospel from being proclaimed. Beth was in a restaurant with some Asian friends a few weeks ago. She noticed that written in the native language on the backs of each chair was the word ‘Emmanuel.’ Apparently she was in a restaurant of Christian believers and this was their way of witness. Beth asked her friends if they knew what that word meant. They did not. It opened the door for her to tell them about Emmanuel, about God with us, about Jesus. In a country where witness for Jesus is not allowed, Christians are finding a way to proclaim the Gospel. We live in a country where Christian witness is allowed and yet, often we are silent when it comes to pointing others to Jesus. Today ask God to give you the opportunity and the courage to point someone else to the good news of the love of Jesus Christ. After all, isn’t that what God calls us to do, go into all the world and make followers of Jesus?
