READ: I TIMOTHY 6:6-10, 17-19
Over Christmas, my youngest daughter said, “Daddy, I hate dealing with money. It just ties me up in knots. It was easier when you were paying the bills, and I didn’t have to worry about it.” Does thinking about money ever tie you up in knots? Money matters and, whether we like it or not, we have to deal with it for the rest of our lives. Money can dominate your life.
When it comes to money, who do you listen to? Your banker, your broker, the money channel? Who do you think is the smartest person in the world about money? Warren Buffet? The chairman of the Federal Reserve? The smartest person in the world about money, the one who will always give you perfect financial advice, is the Lord. He made all things, and He knows all things. What would it mean if you let the Lord be your financial advisor, if you ordered your life around God’s financial principles? I think you might find that your money will no longer tie you up in knots or dominate your life. Today I invite you to read these scriptures: Prov. 30:8-9; I Tim. 6:6-10, 17-19; Deut. 8:11-18; Prov. 22:7; Prov. 3:9-10; Mal. 3:10.
