Mr. Darrian Jackson
Before coming to Hope Inspired Ministries, I was really struggling in some areas of my life. In the past I have “worked” but I have also made some big mistakes because the type of work I did involved drugs. I have always struggled with drugs and chics. And because of weaknesses I have not been able to get a good job in the last couple of years. Sometimes my “work” even led to me being incarcerated.
I have been here for 13 weeks and I have learned some awesome things. For example; I have learned what it means to have a good work ethic. I have learned ways to become a person with a better attitude towards others. And most importantly I now know I want to be a better person. I have also learned to set goals for myself.
My goals are to keep a steady job and to become a better man for my family. I want to be able to someday save up enough money to buy my own home. AND, I will continue to build a better relationship with God.
I would very much like to be a motivational speaker to young people. I would be happy if I were able to even help one youngster not make the mistakes I have made.
Tonight, I would like to thank the staff of Hope Inspired Ministries, my mentor, Mr. Eric Williams, Mr. John Pig, and my classmates for hanging in there with me. I would also like to thank my family, especially my mother, Annie Jackson, and my fiancé, Shonica Winston.
I also want to thank the people at Partners Reality for my internship. I am now working full time with them.
I will continue to do a great job for them.
Thank you and Good night.
Isn’t it amazing how happy the polpee in Africa are even though they have so much less in material ways? They understand what true joy is. Thanks for sharing their beautiful, smiling faces!
