An answer to prayer in the face of Buddhist persecution
Recently we posted a prayer request from Frazer’s supported missionaries in southeast Asia. Here is a follow-up message from her that demonstrates the power of prayer.
I’m posting Jiwan’s previous prayer request and his recent response to how the Lord is moving in this situation. Thank you all for praying! The prayers of the righteous avail much! Trudy
Jiwan called us just now to ask us to pray (and asked us to let you know) of a situation in a village called Kitteni (where pastor Amar lives). Apparently there was a Buddhist man who had heard the gospel and wanted to follow Jesus. He threw away all his idols (on his own accord) and worshipped with the believers in the village. When his family heard about this they were very upset and began pressuring him to return to Buddhism. Now the police are involved and he has reported six members of the church, including the pastor. These are very serious charges and these brothers and sisters will have to go to court. Jiwan feels that the only way this will end is if this man drops the charges. Would you please pray that God would change this man’s heart? Also, pray for the believers that their faith would not waiver as they face this persecution and also for the police and judge who will over see and hear the testimony in this case.
Jiwan said that the spiritual darkness in Kittini and in Balasun is oppressive and he is asking us to lift up the Church in these small villages in India and Nepal.
Very interesting things happen in Ketteni with Amar and the believers there. The man who turn back to Buddhist, he want to establish his prayer alter again so the village people and police wanted the Christian leader to do that because they said he was the one to throw the idols away, but all prayed against that so the Christian do not have to do those things. They called head Buddhist Lama so while the lama started his prayer he became very seriously sick and he could not continue his prayer and so he has to leave the place so that part did not happen and is still not done. Many people got to see that and see the power of our God for his children. So thank you dear saints for praying and upholding that village in prayer. Jiwan
