READ: ACTS 20:13-26
There were 267 people on board a ship sailing in the Mediterranean Sea to Rome. Paul was on board as a prisoner. The ship ended up in a storm of hurricane proportions. Fear and panic and turmoil took over everyone on board the ship except for one person. There was one person who trusted God, one person who was calm and confident in the storm. That person was Paul. He was not afraid. He was praising God and thanking God and trusting God in the storm. He knew that God would see them through. The ship wrecked, but they all survived.
You can trust God in the storm and give thanks even in the darkness because of six things. 1. God’s power to save you from the storm is greater than the storm’s power to destroy you. 2. God has a purpose for your life that is bigger than the storm. 3. God always has a beautiful future for you. 4. God will give you the strength to make it through the storm. 5. He will grow you through the experience of the storm if you will allow it. 6. There are blessings to be found in every storm. Sometimes you look back and discover that the storm itself was a blessing. So, in the midst of the storm, trust God and take courage.
