The guys finished up painting the siding on Friday morning, and got to take over a project that another group could not finish. It was kind of like a clown car, see how many grown men fit in a small bathroom and can still use power tools. They finished fixing the shower and even fixed the sink.
Us women decided the men had the bathroom under control and went to the community clothes store and sorted, cleaned and hung a ton of clothes. The store workers were very appreciative, they had to let three paid workers go this year from budget cuts. They just can’t process the clothes quick enough. We really enjoyed talking and swapping recipes while we worked.
Ava got to go to the mission school and help clean it from top to bottom. The school has gorgeous murals on the wall but Ava’s favorite was a list of class rules. Rule #2 Don’t Pass Gas in Class. A good rule to live by.
Thursday night there was a “No Talent, Talent Show”. There were some great groups that preformed. Ava played her guitar and sang. Paul and I and Ava told the story of Jonah and the Whale with ballon animals. Quite a sight to see.
We closed the night with communion and praise for the many ways God has been served this week and the many blessing He has shown each of us. Please ask us or another Red Bird Mission team member about there experience and for ways you might be able to pray for or support this amazing mission. We would love for you to join the group as they come back to beautiful Red Bird Mountain.
